Growing up in Albuquerque, I spent my most of my days admiring the Sandia's from my backyard, and in my death I wished to give back to the mountains that raised me, and made me who I am today.
For the tombstone I decided on a well-balanced design that mimics the nature around it. The tombstone is also used to give back to the mountains by helping the native species in the Foothills with the yellow yarrows attracting bees and other wildlife. The yarrow itself is native to New Mexico and is a symbol of everlasting love.
Every night when the Sun sets the Sandia's turn a vibrant shade of pink for only a few moments, because the tombstone will be made out of Sandia Granite it to will turn pink for a few fleeting minutes every night.
When placed in the Foothills of the mountain the tombstone will reflect the love and unity that we experience with the nature around us.
